A SELAH SPOT: Miss, Racquel K. Kelley (Living Beyond Yesterday)

Greeting Selah Bloggers,

Physically, mentally, unexpected and unwarranted difficulties occur in our lives; leaving us with more questions than answers, and at the same time not leaving our minds.

This is physically and mentally draining (no one understands more than Ms Kelley), the toll it takes on a human being. Some stages in life; we must get up, move, and breathe, knowing God is in control.

It gives me great pleasure to put the spotlight on a wonderful soul. She is my friend and co-worker, but first a little background. This lovely soul is a survivor of 911. She was wounded in the attack at the Pentagon. Her friends say: Racquel is intelligent, she is funny and caring. She works with tenacity when organizing events for her co-workers in her work environment. She provides great help to her friends (she's got your back!).

Racquel K. Kelley, a 40 year old single mother of one (son).
Ms Kelley is currently employed by the Department of the Army.
Morgan State University (MSU) Class of ’92.
She is a soccer, football, basketball and baseball Mom.

Ms Kelley!
“Some things people don't know about me is that I love Monster Trucks (Gravedigger),
I love WWE (the Undertaker) and the Dallas cowboys. My favorite movies are Forest Gump and gone with the Wind. I love reading Shakespeare and Greek mythology”.

A few things Ms Kelley may not know:
We are grateful for her courage even when she may not feel courageous herself.
We are thankful to be her friends and her co-workers.
We believe that your best days are before you. God and you will do exploits!

In this moment Selah & Co. spotlights Ms. Racquel K Kelly as a women of dedication, hard work and for moving forward at times of great extremes, with a life message of "Don't Quit!". Selah!

Here's To You Selah!

(Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Prov 3:5))

A SELAH MOMENT

No one person is more special than another. Measuring ones worth over another is the works of the flesh (man). God loves all his has creation equally (For there is no partiality with God, Romans 2:11)
He has made everyone equally special. You are a wonder. You are a phenomenon and a marvel. You are the image of a wonder, a phenomenon, and a marvel. You are just like your Father. He’ll see you in your dreams (Matt 2:12) Selah!

JUST STOP or PAY

The Liar, the Thief and the Cheater (LTC)
(If you will lie, you will steal, if you will steal, you will cheat)

“Never lie, steal, cheat, or drink.
But if you must lie, lie in the arms of the one you love.
If you must steal, steal away from bad company.
If you must cheat, cheat death and if you must drink, drink in the moments that take your breath away”

If you can’t seem to understand what is going on in your life, examine LTC, Sehal!

TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOU

Balance in Life is the Key!

Please remember to balance your life out.
Take good care of:
• Your Body (keep your doctor’s appointments)
• Your Spirit (pray)
• Your Soul (feed your mind good stuff)
I pray for all my friends daily: That they all may live long, laugh always, love God and people deeply.
If you are having a bad day or had a bad day:
• Locate someone who you can help
• Write a letter to someone who’s having a dreadful day
• Give to someone in hardship
• Watch a funny/stupid silly movie
Afterward, look up and be thankful for the ability to get a mouthful of air. You are what’s important to God. Your actions are next. Selah!

My Love To You!

Terence Efrem Gray Sr.,

WHAT'S PAINING YOU?

We woke to a new day!
It is up to you and no other.
It’s up to you to smile.
It’s up to you to be happy each day.
Since it’s up to you to pray.

It’s up to you to let pain destroy.
Your now, then and present.
Since it’s up to you to pray.

What is it about pain we like?
What makes us own it, embrace it,
a need to reclaim it!

Hold it for a moment and let it go!

Since it’s up to you to heal,
it’s up to you to kneel.

Did you wake up today forgetting?
It’s up to you, to get you, on your way.

I’ve decided I’m going to smile and pray.
I’m going to have fun this day.

I’m going to love and heal,
thanking God I can kneel.

Pain I’ll see you and about 120...Terence Sr.,

A Straighten Backbone

Are you in a self inflicted spiritual prison? Are you dealing with depression? Are you low in spirit? If so, you may want to take matters into your own hands and free yourself. Read on:

When you don’t settle matters with your brothers or sisters quickly, you put yourself in a spiritual prison. You are unable to connect with God. You will not have true peace, and you’ll open doors to spiritual attacks. Asking their forgiveness is the first step, however, you must settle the matter with your brothers or sisters. You must be committed. If you’ve taken something without their permission, lied on them or gossiped about them, hurt them. You must be committed to settling the matter swiftly to be freed. Believers are taking all types of pills, headaches and are going to the doctor because they can’t’ sleep at night. They are depressed, moody and full of rage; they can’t find the peace they once experienced. They are searching; however sadly, they are looking in all the wrong places. Here’s the good news, you have the ability to free yourself from these issues and spiritual imprisonment. Our master, teacher and Savior have showed us the way out. Your Master teacher wants us all to come under God’s divine plan. The Word of God states “it’s better to obey them to sacrifice.” Forgive people and make things right. Remember you hurt one of his children, put off all your foolish excuses today, stop crying out to God for relief and just obey his Holy Words. Find your adversary and take action and repair the injured (it’s your duty to make it right). God will bless you; he will heal, deliver and prosper you. See Matt 5: 24 for testimonial.
I must be firm, with a in your face attitude polished in the love of the Master. If you haven’t notice the heat has been turned up on believers. We are believing one thing and acting opposite of what we believe. The works are dead. If you’ve forgotten your works are the fruit of your faith. Lets return to good common sense (which is a form of wisdom), or a Word teach faith without works are dead! I solicit you to return to your brother or sister in the faith, repair which has been broken and sense God’s well spring
Flowing in your life once again, flowing over your pain/hurt, sickest, depression and sadness. Freeing you from your spiritual imprisonment and restoring your connection with the God Head. God said; I will never leave you or forsake you. Have you? Have you; abandon your brothers or sisters in the faith because you don’t want to deal with the pain or injustice? Stop! Look at what God wants for you and them. Feel his heart, look at the cross, understand the price his son paid repairing the great relationship of all time, you and me to our father. With the beat of my heart and a straighten backbone obey, restore and be healed.

SLAMMING LAZINESS

Laziness,

It is not your friend. I do not want to be passive, so allow me to be firm when I say it’s your foe. Examine the ways of laziness. It steals your creativity and depletes your ability to prosper in your soul, mind and body. It’s game is blame, when you are lazy. Excuses will be your calling card. The greatest lie will be to self. If I could remove them from your life, this is what I would have you do:

Writing your name on a white piece of paper, that reads. I can no longer tolerate in my life (insert your name); laziness, excuses and blame. They will not govern my future in any aspect. I sign this decree under my own free will.

Your are not finish! The last act: Start a fire (controlled) stand over it with the signed decree, drop it into the fire and watch it go up in flames. O.k., o.k. if you must know (;>)!

This symbolizes the obliteration of all (laziness, excuses and blame!) that is no longer attached to your life.

You are too vital, to play fruitless games. Selah!

Giggle Spot: On their way to a justice of the peace to get married, a couple had a fatal car accident.
The couple found themselves sitting outside Heaven's Gate waiting on St. Peter to do an intake. While waiting, they wondered if they could possibly get married in Heaven.

St. Peter finally showed up and they asked him.

St. Peter said, "I don't know, this is the first time anyone has asked. Let me go find out." and he left.

The couple sat and waited for an answer...for a couple of months... and they began to wonder if they really should get married in Heaven, what with the eternal aspect of it all.

"What if it doesn't work?" they wondered, "Are we stuck together forever?"

St. Peter returned after yet another month, looking somewhat bedraggled.
"Yes," he informed the couple, "you can get married in Heaven."

"Great," said the couple, "but what if things don't work out? Could we also get a divorce in Heaven?"

St. Peter, red-faced, slammed his clipboard onto the ground.

"What's wrong?", asked the frightened couple.

"COME ON!" St. Peter shouted, "It took me three months to find a priest up here! Do you have any idea how long it will take me to find a lawyer?"

That's funny!! I'm out....

THE GIFT (A Selah Moment)

To be a gift that's treasured by all requires a heart that can be seen by all /
Sometimes a treasure is buried deep not knowing is enough to make you weep /
But like everything that has a time to mature after it has endured the splendor of it is pure /
Its treasure is measured and lifted high, because it waited and knows it's time to soar /
No need to bury it again under the cover of a man’s sin, which diseases the skin /
You are the gift which makes the population shift /
It's like your heart in your hand, to close, would be morose /
A gift so noticeable, look at flowers to understand /
Thank God you are a component of his plan /

A gift is defined as; something that is bestowed voluntarily and without compensation /

Wives, Children & Husbands, Parents, Siblings & In-laws, Co-workers, Relatives & Friends / Believe it or not, a gift to your foes

You are the gift.

PEBBLE #5 WIN!

You-Winner-You!
Do not let life tribulations get you down also do not let people stop your dreams. Your purpose for existing is bigger than your tribulations; in-fact your tribulations will help with discovering your passion, gifts and talents. God has always been in the problem solving business; are you?
Victor (You); if your cup is filled with unresolved issues and problems; they are all you have to offer to others. What a bitter cup. Here’s the good news; you can turn it into something astonishing, appealing and pleasing, 1st for you and then to whom may need a cool drink from your well.
Conqueror, do you make declaration like “it’s always something” (correct but only if you are breathing). A wiser/elder once said to me “this too shall pass or it came to pass (go by).” So relax!
Ask yourself questions like (if I may be bold):
• What is this teaching me?
• How can I get the best (future benefit) out of this trial for myself as well as others?
A winning attitude:
• If you do not believe you are a winner, who will?
• Why would you believe anything contrary?
Quitting on your passion is not in the cards (you are in this to win it --- right? because we must be on the same pages. You will always have reasons to quit and dealing with this up-front is for the best.
Take pebble #5:
• Aim it at quitting.
• Get it into your sight --- it’s demolished (eliminated from your thinking)!
Now let’s deal with these self-esteem issues winners. Please believe me you are at war (the war in your mind). The enemy will attack you. You will be hit with "who do you think you are"? At this stage if you do not know or understand who you are? I say, this is going to hurt a little bit; it's going to hurt a little bit (slang)!
You are created to win, you have everything you need on the inside you (not based on men rules) winning is in your D&A and by discovering your passion, you now have all the proof you need. Each human being is wired to win. Some descend into a trap of being lazy, too lazy to be their best. Sehal! -- I said Sehal people!!! (Smile). Beloved do not look for:
(1) A Magic bullet
(2) A Magic person (s)
(3) The someday syndrome
I (Terence Sr.) have a need in me to build people up. It was discovered at an early age and it's given me enormous joy & enormous pain. The pain; seeing individuals with talent, skills and ability do nothing.
Somehow; once I felt so deeply as if it was my failure. Now I recognize I was crossing a line (now a supporter only). People are amazing and can do amazing things if they want to. Whammy (slang)!
You -- who are reading this; next to you, you will never find another person who’s cheering you on (on earth) like me! Looking back over 35 years it is my passion. Whether at home, work or playing sports (all we have is people, male & female).
Are we building people up or tearing them down (Family Members (what about the kids), Coworkers, Friends and Church Members, Teammates, Husbands or Wives maybe your Girlfriends or Boyfriends)?
If all your love ones were seen by you as gifts, how would you cope with them?
So be the bigger person, the winner you know you are!

From me to you with love...Terence Sr.,

PEBBLE #4: THE GOLDEN RULE!

PEBBLE #3: EMOTIONS; GET CONTROL OF EMOTIONS!

I need a moment to think! What can I tell you? How can I make you understand the immensity of pebble #3? Do I need to quote someone – you know when words are placed into quotations we tend to think this must be significant (maybe that’s just me)! Any who, I need a cup of tea (Decaf). Grab your most excellent (slang) hot beverage, pull-up-to the net and let’s get started on #3.
Your emotions positive or negative will help or harm your body ( we need our bodies). Aim to wipe out or control your negative emotions. In my study on emotions, I came across some vital information concerning this topic.

Robert Ader (psychologist), discovery in 1974 the immune system, like the brain, could learn.
His result was a shock; “the prevailing wisdom in medicine had been that only the brain and central nervous system could respond to experience by changing how they behaved. Ader’s finding led to the investigation of what are turning out to be myriad ways the central nervous system and the immune system communicate ---biological pathways that makes the mind, the emotions, and body not separate, but intimately entwined.”

What does this mean: The immune system is the “body’s brain”. Immune cells travel in the bloodstream throughout the entire body.

A network of researchers are finding that chemical messengers that operate most extensively in both the brain and the immune system, are those that are dense in neural areas that regulate emotion. Selah!!& Selah!!! **That is your link my friends.

Get control of your emotions in 2010 it will help your body reduce aging, sickness and help fight off disease.
My next pebble or pebble #4; I’ll share a few weapons that will bulldoze those negative emotions!!

Fix your thinking, change your life: “Blessed is the man who finds wisdom, the man who gains understanding, for she is more profitable than silver and yields better returns than gold.”(Provb 3:13) Selah!

As always, much love! You guys are always in my heart and prayers.

Note: Please drop me a comment on the blog; love to hear from each and every one of you!

ARE YOU LOADING YOUR 2010 SLINGSHOT WITH THE RIGHT PEBBLES?

Pebble 2: Movement: moving out on your passion is vital – linking the two is, electrifying!

Act on your passion each day, no matter how small. Learn something new about it each day. Perhaps there’s someone you know with the same passion? “Your passion will drive you when logic vacates”.

You are not too old or too young! Passion trumps age, movement (action) nourish passion. First let me expose your enemy; procrastination!

Listen, I want you to get this in the cerebrum part of your brain. Nothing new happens until you make it happen! One more time, NOTHING NEW HAPPENS UNTIL YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN!

1 more again (yes slang) * NOTHING NEW HAPPENS UNTIL YOU MAKE IT HAPPEN!

If you want to be happy! BE HAPPY!

See it as being responsible and nothing adds to your happiness like moving out on your passion. To those who still need someone or something to make them happy, do this: start your 2010 slingshot while you are waiting, load it with a few of the recommended pebbles and maybe, just maybe --- your aim will stop your blame.

Act on your passion now!

O.K. ask! What does the cerebrum do?
In humans it is the center of thought, learning, memory, language, and emotion.

Listen I’m out! Friends be safe and happy…T

CONSIDER YOUR WORTH

Some may never consider your worth: Respecting, leading, educating or mentoring.
*Considering the great things we are capable of !

Some may not see you as their ideal applicant. You may try planting an apple tree without apple seeds.
* Although the hard way, some do things differently!

Some may consider walking without legs, eating without teeth and smiling without lips.
*Some consider doing the impossible!

Some may believe they can live without air and see without eyes.
*Some believe the impossible!

So when you count your blessings & consider your worth. Do this by: Respect yourself, lead, educate and mentor someone.
*Doing the great things we are capable of!

Then open your eyes and walk to the store --- buy and eat a piece of cake.
*Doing the simple things we are capable of!

Plant an apple tree with the apple seeds you purchased and take a bite.
*The way to do the impossible is to start with the possible!

by: Terence E Gray Sr.

YOU ARE IN IT TO WIN IT OR ARE YOU?

I need your help on this, clear your mind by relaxing. Inhale, exhale, yes, you can do it. Did not work? Do it again! Also, I need you to be in (yes in) that special mood: calm, quiet and still. Well now that you are in 2010 and have your new plans before you --- something from your past is still perplexing you (Maybe you are having trouble shaking it off). I want you to ask yourself an extremely important question. Why? What is it that you are not learning from that past act? Does it still make you angry? Do you feel discomfort or irritated?
I need you to study the Why question of these emotions. Because you are going to use them as David did with those five pebbles. You got it! You are going to demolish those negative, unproductive emotions by using them all correctly. Next I need you to place them in your fictional slingshot called passion! Hey! It’s about that time. We are going to need a hot cup of tea, for this (LOL!).

Pebble One; what are you passionate about? Have you ever wondered what makes someone great? What keeps them on the top of their game? Why do they have this fire and how can I get some of it? Is it because they are intelligent? Are they highly gifted? What is it? Great questions and the answers rest inside of you. One word -- PASSION, that’s right passion! Passion makes the ordinary human-being -- great. It’s the fire!

Many Great leaders, CEOs and Presidents were average students. Many millionaires never completed college and one of the richest men in the world (Bill Gates) is filled with passion and vastly passionate about what he does.

Michael Jordan was one of the most passionate athletes in the history of the NBA. What kept him on top was his passion for the game of basketball. When you see him play, you could almost imagine yourself on the court making some of the same shots. Jordan filled seats wherever he went, his opponents played better when they played against him. He was a bad, “Mother, shut your mouth!” on the court.

I have had the opportunity to work with numerous leaders of the Government, private sectors and also spiritual leaders. When in the company of these astonishing men and women, I discovered one common denominator - 'passion' - they loved what they did and they did it well. The passion in their life was like fire; each person under their leadership went to blaze. I knew they were making me into a better leader.

When I came up against leaders who did not possess this gift, the task became mundane and just something to do. I had one routine leader tell me “you are too excited about your work.” In his view, this was a bad thing.

I learned that when I was passionate about something, nothing could stop me from finishing the task(s) (I knew I could accomplish). Do not surrender your passion, whether you are 17 or 70- reach for it and catch on fire again and blaze with passion. My tea is cold! Just another moment from me to you…Selah!

Was I the first today, to say it? Much love to you!
